At World of Concrete 2020, PCA Economic Forecast Sees Continued Growth

Alongside swarms of contractors and other industry professionals pouring in to see the latest in concrete equipment, tools and products at the annual World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas, the Portland Cement Association has released a relatively rosy economic forecast for 2020 into 2021.

Miyamoto Office to Consult for Puerto Rico Quake Retrofits

Miyamoto International, a seismic structural engineer, is opening a permanent office in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to offer its services to public and private entities to help with the repair and seismic strengthening of buildings damaged in the earthquake on Jan. 7.

Engineer Howard Simpson, Co-Founder of SGH, Dies at 97

Howard Simpson, known for his engineering expertise in structural mechanics, died Jan. 23 at age 97. He was the last surviving founder of multidisciplinary consulting engineer Simpson Gumpertz & Heger.
